Trend watch: eleven new design trends for the home

Ferguson publishes Trends and Influences for 2015

Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery Trends & Influences is a beautiful 25-page, full-color inspirational look-book. The guide showcases product design trends for the kitchen and bath, with an emphasis on lighting. The layout was inspired by editorial spreads in top design publications and features a combination of product and lifestyle images grouped by industry trends.

Here's a quick look at three the trends illustrated in the guide:

The other trends include:

  • Industrial Chic - Drawing from factory cues, strong materials are offset by smooth curves, muted tones and softer textures.
  •  Masculine Touches - Make a bold statement in any space by incorporating rigid materials and pronounced lines.
  • Pendaliers  - A chandelier encased in an oversized pendant - also known as a "Pendalier."
  • Decorative LED - Advancements in this eco-friendly technology creates light in innovative forms.
  • Jewelry Inspired - Lighting fixtures resemble necklaces, earrings and bracelets.
  • Technology Integration - Cutting-edge breakthroughs weave a world of greater function and control into the home.
  • Geometric Shapes - Clean lines and crisp edges offer beautiful symmetry through bold geometric shapes.
  • Mix It Up - Mixing and matching materials offers a look that is both unique and interesting.
